Fishing on Skiatook is varied because of the large selection of fish species. In addition to the species familiar to Oklahoma lakes such as large mouth bass, crappie, channel catfish, flathead catfish, blue catfish, bluegill, carp, and others. Skiatook has been stocked with small mouth bass, hybrid strippers, and walleye. This gives fisherman a real variety of action. When the lake was constructed many of the trees were left standing in most coves. This provides a good fish habitat and enables the lake to support large quantities of anglers and still afford the privacy desired.
